Section 5(a)(1) of Public Law 91-596, the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to the potential of impalement on vertical protruding plastic (pvc) water pipe and electrical conduit: . (a) On or about July 28, 2006, the vertical protruding plastic water pipe and electrical conduit on all floors of buildings 15-6 and 15-9 were not covered or protected to prevent the possibility of impalement. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install rebar protective caps over the pipes.tive
