Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:01/08/07 Equipment:Amada Fab 50 Hydraulic Press Brakes Condition:Employees operated machinery using foot pedals that were not covered. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the hazard is to incorporate foot pedals on machinery, that are covered to prevent employees from accidentally stepping on the foot pedal, causing the machine to cycle while material is being placed or retrieved from the point of operation.
