Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: Employees may be exposed to electrical shock and electrical burns due to open conductors on the hanging pendant control of the overhead hoist in the spike harrow assembly area when operating the overhead hoist. One feasible and acceptable method, among others, to correct this hazard is to follow the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (AMSE) B30.16 - 2003, Overhead Hoise (Underhung), Section 16-1.2.3 Controls. ***Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c)***
