Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being caught in between the lifting arm.: a) An employee was climbing the lifting arms assembly of the scissor lift to gain access to the work platform. The employee was exposed to caught in between/crushing hazards from the pinch points of the scissor lifting arms assembly. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the hazard is to prohibit the employees from using the scissor lifting arms assembly to gain access to the work platform. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION NOT REQUIRED
