Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that the labels/makings on a fiberglass stepladder were legible and readily visible. (a)Employees were exposed to the hazard of overloading and falling while using an 8 foot Louisville Fiberglass Ladder and the employer did not ensure that the labels/markings were legible and readily visible. Among other methods one feasible means of abatement would be to comply with ANSI-A14.5, Chapter 10.1 and ensure that all markings are legible and readily visible. Certification, with date and method of abatement required. Certification of abatement is required by 29 CFR Part 1903 and is to be submitted within ten (10) calendar days after the abatement date.ment
