Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to dust explosion, deflagration or other fire hazards: a.Site - Employees who were working in areas served by dust collection systems were exposed to fire and/or explosion hazards due to the design, construction and location of the systems. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to follow the criteria set forth in the NFPA Standard 654 (2006 Edition) "Prevention of Fire and Dust Explosions from the Manufacturing, Processing, and Handling of Combustible Particulate Solids".ate
