Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a struck-by hazard. (a) Location - Washington Street, Claremont, NH, 03773 On or about 10/26/09, Employees were exposed to a struck-by hazard while working within the swing radius of the Somero Laser Screed. Among other feasible and acceptable abatement methods are 1) To install a swing radius line to the base of the rotating base. 2) Train employees to stay a safe distance from the rotating base of the Somero Laser Screed.
