Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by hazards: Employees working near the hay barn and the feed mill were exposed to struck-by hazards. The backup alarm for the Caterpillar 924G wheel loader was not working in that daily inspections were not performed to ensure its operation. Among Other Feasible and Acceptable Methods is to perform daily inspections and tests as per the Operation and Maintenance Manual, IT28G, Integrated Tool Carrier and 924G, 924GZ, 928G, and 930G Wheel Loaders. Publication Date 01/04/2008. 29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the above violation is completed.
