Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to potential crushing and/or struck-by hazards from collapsing storage racks and/or falling materials: (a) For the employees working in the warehouse loading, unloading and working nearby the storage racks where support posts and bracing components were damaged. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement would be to replace the damaged components. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement Certification Letter").tion
