Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:07/28/08 Location:Shop 2, P-1 Jig Condition:Employees were not protected from being struck by a shifting/falling 1,700-pound section of angle iron used to fabricate T-columns as the material was staged on top of a work table. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct the hazard is to retrofit the work table to secure large sections in place to prevent them from shifting and/or falling. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
