North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to a crushed by object. a)Auto bay #1 - periodic inspections were not being conducted by a qualified inspector, in accordance with the manufacturer recommendations or the Automotive Lift Institute, Inc. (ALI), to assure the proper function of the safety lock. JARMAN TIRE, INC. WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH (OSH) STANDARD (NCGS 95.129(l) OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD, WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN THE OSH INSPECTION NUMBER (308546050), CITATION NUMBER (01), ITEM NUMBER (001), ISSUED ON (12/05/2005). Reference: ANSI B153.1-1981 3.2.1 (American National Standards Institute) and ALI 2000 One feasible and acceptable method of abatement is for the employer to conduct the recommended daily manufacturer safety inspections for each lift in the service area and follow the manufacturer recommended maintenance, which would include making sure the safety locks on the lifts are operable.ce,
