North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and
Health Act of North Carolina:
The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of
employment and a place of employment free
from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or
serious physical harm to employees
exposed to electrical equipment and electrical wiring not approved for
Class 1 Division 2 locations.
a)facility, spray adhesive area - where there is unapproved electrical
wiring, outlets, etc. within
10 feet of where employees are spraying flammable adhesives (Wilsonart 900
Series Adhesives
(containing acetone, Light Hydrotreated Distillate, Class 1B flammable
liquid).  Employees
also use electric routers within 10 feet of the adhesive spraying
operation.
Reference:  NFPA 33, Standard for Spray Application Using Flammable or
Combustible Materials. 2000
edition (Chapter 6 paragraph  6.5.2.19(b)(2)), The hazardous location
shall extend 10 feet horizontally and 3
feet vertically when the spray application equipment is not interlocked
with the exhaust ventilation.
