Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:09/30/08 Equipment:JLG Rough Terrain Forklift, Model 8042 Condition:An employee, operating the rough terrain forklift, did not wear the seatbelt provided for him. Among other methods, one feasible means to abate this condition is to enforce the wearing of seat belts each time the operator operates the forklift. The proposed penalty for this item has been reduced by 50for effective and efficient abatement during the inspection.
