Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Employees were exposed to the hazard of falling when standing on a platform of a forklift to secure Caterpillar 793 quarry truck transmissions to flatbed trailers and the employees were not protected by standard railings or an equivalent means of fall protection. There was no mid-rail on the platform. Among other feasible and acceptable methods to correct this hazard is to follow manufacturers recommendations that meets the requirements stated in ANSI/ASME B56.1 - 2004, 7.37.1 Paragraph (1). ***Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c)***
