c.Install dedicated mechanical ventilation and associated make-up air sufficient to prevent accumulation of ammonia in the space in the event of a leak. (Section 8.11.4 and 8.11.5) d.Remove all combustion equipment, like the natural gas powered water heater, from the space. (Section 8.11.6) e.Provide legible permanent signs, securely attached and easily accessible, reading "Machinery Room - Authorized Personnel Only", communicating that entry is forbidden except by personnel trained in emergency procedures invoked by activation of the ammonia alarm. (Section 8.11.8) f.Replace the ceiling of the space with noncombustible construction (Section 8.12). h.Tightly seal pipes piercing the interior walls of the machinery room to the walls through which they pass. (Section 8.12) i.Provide remote control of the mechanical equipment in the refrigerating machinery room, immediately outside the machinery room door, solely for the purpose of shutting down the equipment in an emergency. (Section 8.12) ***Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d)***
