Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: a) Building B Tire Storage Area: There was inadequate lighting provided in the tire storage area which poses a means of egress hazard. The Jeff Clay & Sons, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard Section 5(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 312284169, citation number 01, item number 001 and was affirmed as a final order on 07-18-08, with respect to a workplace located at 1200 S. John Young Pkwy, Kissimmee, FL. 34741. Note: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to ensure the lighting is added or repaired in accordance with NFPA 101 Life Safety Code Chapter 7.8 Illumination of Means of Egress.
