The employer manufactures expanded polystyrene foam (styrofoam) in which isopentane is used as the blowing agent. Process piping used to convey isopentane from the storage tank to the extruders was not labeled. Abatement Note: ASME A13.1-2007 provides a "Scheme for the Identification of Piping Systems". The standard recommends that flammable liquids, such as isopentane, be identified with black letters, 1/2" or larger, on a "safety yellow" background.
