Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the conditions listed below: On or about February 19, 2010, employees were exposed to the hazards associated with not repairing hydraulic dock levelers when they are malfunctioning. Employees were exposed to a crushing hazard from the hydraulic dock levelers at various doors rising unexpectedly. One method of abatement is to inspect, service and maintain the hydraulic dock levelers in accordance with the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) MH 30.1-2000, Standard for the Safety, Performance, and Testing of Dock Leveling Devices, Part 4.4.5 of the Owner Responsibility Section.bility
