Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard: (a) Employees were exposed to a fall hazard due to working on a forklift work platform that extended more than 10 inches outside the front load bearing tires at 325 Highway 2 in Rugby, North Dakota. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard would be to follow the American National Standards Institute B56.6-2005, paragraphs 8.24.1(b) for platform dimensions.
