Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that, employees were exposed to crushing injuries: a) On or about July 7, 2010 and times prior, employees operated forklifts while not wearing a seat belt exposing them to serious injuries in the event of a tip-over or other accident. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to ensure that employees are trained regarding the hazards associated with not wearing seat belts and to implement an active, effective enforcement policy. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").-Certification

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that, employees were exposed to falls resulting in injuries: a) On or about July 7, 2010 and times prior, employees that operated equipment located in the seed wheat cleaner platform were exposed to injuries in that, the support located on the northwest corner of the platform had been damaged and removed compromising the platforms stability. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to have a structural engineer evaluate the platform structure and implement their recommendation. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").-Certification
