Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
a. Receive serious injuries such as fractures, because in the area where
employees walk
to get from the machine shop and office buildings, about 50 'away, forming
a pool of
water 50' long x 5 'wide, approximatley. This area is continually used by
employees
from one place to another. This area is wet due to a broken fire hydrant
that
is leaking
water and created constant. Several employees have slipped and fallen in
that area
because of the slime that is created by moisture.
One way to corrected the situation is to eliminate the leak or fixed the
hydrant.
Hazard: Falls.
a. Recibir lesiones serias tales como, fracturas, debido a que el area es
una de transito
constante, entre el taller de mecanica y los edificios de oficinas, a unos
50' de distancia
se forma un charco de agua de 50' de largo x 5'de ancho, aproximadamente.
El area esta
mojada debido a una fuga de agua de un hidrante(bomba de agua para
incendio). Varios
empleados se han resbalado y caido, debido al limo generado por la humedad.
Una manera factible para corregir dicha situacion es, arreglar el hidrante.
Riesgo: Caidas.
