Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a. Employees were exposed to recieve injuries such as contusions at the DF Office, Governmental Building, Ponce. At the archive room, several old archives where observed damaged and not safe, the archive's drawer and some handles were broken. The employees opened the drawer and could either or get stuck or fell down. In addition some archives had excesive files jammed. The dimensions of the archives are 52" height x 18"wide x 25"depth( 4 drawers) and others( 5 drawers) 66" height x 28" depth x 18"wide. One feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard, would be among others remove old and/or damaged archive and buy new ones. Hazard: Archive damaged and drawers fall. a. Empleados fueron expuestos a recibir lesiones tales como contusiones en la oficina del DF, Edificio Gubernamental, Ponce. En el cuarto de archivo, algunos archivos fueron observados danados y no seguros, las gavetas y algunos mangos estaban rotos. En adicion los archivos tenian expedientes apinados. Las dimensiones de los archivos son 52" de alto x 15"ancho x 25" profundidad (4 gavetas) y otros de (5 gavetas) 66"alto x 25"de profundidad x 18" de ancho. Un metodo factible y aceptable de corregir este riesgo podria ser entre otros remover o decomisar los archivos viejos y/o danados y comprar nuevos. Riesgo: Archivos defectuosos, gavetas se caen.
