Employees performing mixing and packaging tasks were exposed to fire and
explosion
hazards in that the vacuum system air material separators for the
following locations were
not located outside the building:
a)Third Floor near the Donaldson Torit dust collection system.
b)First Floor, south end of the building.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard is to
relocate the air material separators outside as referenced paragraph
10.4.3 of NFPA 61,
Standard for the Prevention of Fires and Dust Explosions in Agricultural
and
Food
Processing Facilities, 2008 Edition.
29 CFR 1903.19(d)(1) requires certification and documentation that the
abatement of the
above violation is completed.
