Condition:A plumbed eye wash station was inaccessible and inoperable to
employees, due to being positioned behind a generator with the water flow
cut off, due to a closed ball valve.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is
to relocate the eye wash station to an appropriate location, remove the
ball valve from the
water supply line and correct the flow pattern in accordance with the
American National
Standards Institute (ANSI) Z358.1-2009, Standard for Emergency Eyewashes
and Shower
Equipment.
