Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:On or about 05/11/10 Location:Compressor Room Condition:A plumbed eye wash station was inaccessible and inoperable to employees, due to being positioned behind a generator with the water flow cut off, due to a closed ball valve. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to relocate the eye wash station to an appropriate location, remove the ball valve from the water supply line and correct the flow pattern in accordance with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z358.1-2009, Standard for Emergency Eyewashes and Shower Equipment.
