Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:06/25/100 Location:Construction Yard Equipment:Pettibone Material Lift, Model: #8042, Serial: #7-958 Condition:Employees operated a material lift that had a broken seat belt. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to repair or replace the broken seat belt so that it is functional and have employee operators wear the seat belt while operating the material lift. The proposed penalty for this item has been reduced by 50for effective and efficient abatement during the inspection.
