North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards: a)Pleasant Valley Parking Lot, Raleigh - where an employee was observed standing on the top step of an 8 foot A-frame Werner aluminum ladder. Abatement Note: One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, is to require employees to work from taller ladders. Reference: American National Standard for Ladders - Portable Metal- Safety Requirements, ANSI A14.2-2000, Section 8.3.2 "Climbing and Working Locations" pg. 54.
