Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer does not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: This violation was observed on or August 2, 2011, employees attempting to install I beams on the structure were exposed to the hazards of falls while standing on the midrails of the Genie GS-2668 scissor lift. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct these hazards are to comply with the manufacturer's instructions for safe use of the the Model GS-2668 Genie scissor lift.
