Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the condition(s) listed below: Union Drilling, Inc., Rig #224, 3 Miles S. of Andrews, Bakke Unit # 155, Andrews, Texas. On or about April 4, 2011, and times prior thereto, an employee was not protected from fire/explosion hazards due to working on a derrick board without the auxiliary means of escape installed. Feasible and Acceptable Abatement Methods would include: 1. Ensure that the auxiliary escape is installed on the auxiliary escape line when employees are working on the derrick board "Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19(d), the employer must provide documentation that this violation has been abated within 10 calendar days after the abatement date."ent
