General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by hazards. On or about February 28, 2012 and times prior thereto, the employer did not ensure that all hoists located in the Chip Line Department used to lift or move material were inspected. Employees were exposed to struck by hazards. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means to abate this hazard is to inspect all hoists located in the manufacturing plant and follow the guidelines per ASME B30-16 and ASME B30.20 1999.
