Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:07/02/12 Location:Approximately 5 feet from the East Edge of the Constructed Pit Found at the Southeast Corner of Phase 1 and 2 Floor Slab Condition:Employees walked by, worked next to, and worked 12 feet above 5 rigid metal conduit 1/2 inch in diameter with 4 conduit protruding 21 7/8 inches and 1 conduit protruding 21 inches from the concrete slab. (b)Date of Violation:07/02/12 Location:At the Second Column from the East Edge of Slab for Phase 1 and 2 in Column Line 9 Condition:Employees walked by, worked next to, and worked 12 feet above a rigid metal conduit 1/2 inch in diameter protruding 26 inches from the concrete slab. (c)Date of Violation:07/02/12 Location:At the Third Column from the East Edge of Slab for Phase 1 and 2 in Column Line 7 Condition:Employees walked by, worked next to, and worked 12 feet above a rigid metal conduit 1/2 inch in diameter protruding 15 1/4 inches from the concrete slab. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install rebar caps or cover the conduit with a protective cover.tive
