Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:On or About 07/13/12 Location:New Slab at the East Side of the Site Condition:Employees walked by, worked next to, and worked 12 feet above 31 rigid metal conduits 1 1/2 inches in diameter and protruding from 8 to 15 inches from the concrete slab. (b)Date of Violation:On or About 07/13/12 Location:North and East Edges of the New Slab Condition:Employees walked by, worked next to, and worked 19 feet above 3 1/2 inch copper ground rods buried in the ground. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install rebar caps or cover the conduit and copper ground rods with a protective cover. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
