Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:On or About 12/14/12 Condition:An employee mixing AMX 600 Coarse Grout, a corrosive, was provided with an emergency eyewash station that could not provide at least 15 minutes of hands-free, continuous flushing. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to abate this hazard is to install in the area an emergency eyewash station meeting the requirements of American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z358.1- 2009 "American National Standard for Emergency Eyewash and Shower Equipment." Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
