Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:12/02/13 Location:West Side of Building Condition:An employee was exposed to crush-by/struck-by hazards when the employer permitted the use of 10K Shore Frames as temporary support for a 5-foot overhang on a 3-story apartment building, which were not erected or utilized in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications, limitations, and instructions. Among others, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to erect and utilize shoring under the direction of a qualified person and in accordance with Scaffold Shoring and Forming Institute, Inc. Publications SH300-06-2003 and SH304, 04-2000. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
