29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: 1. On 7/15/2011 at least 4 Dewalt circular saws used by employees had damaged guards. In one case the spring loaded guard was stuck open, two others had a broken off guard at the front portion of the blade and one had a broken guard mounting. 2. On 5/25/2011 the, "large rolls" in the fab shop was unguarded. A safety cable on the machine was lying on the floor around the machine and the limit switch was jammed with metal so it would not move. 3. On 5/25/2011 the Wells bandsaw located in the maintenance shop was unguarded on the unused portion of the blade.
