29 CFR 1926.701(b): Reinforcing steel. All protruding reinforcing steel, onto and into which employees could fall, shall be guarded to eliminate the hazard of impalement. a. On or about September 19, 2011, at the above addressed jobsite, employees working on the first floor, were exposed to ends of rebar that were not guarded, thereby exposing employees to the hazards associated with impalement.
