29 CFR 1926.25(a): During the course of construction, alteration, or repairs, debris was not kept cleared from work areas, passageways, and stairs, in and around buildings or other structures: (a) At the corner of AS Perdido Rd. & Beach Rd., 2 x 4 lumber, plywood, and various scrap wood with protruding nails lay within two feet of a workers mixing Portland cement. The lumber was used as makeshift formwork and dismantled on the day before this inspection. Employees were exposed to the hazards of nails impaling their feet.

29 CFR 1926.95(a): Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, and extremities, protective clothing, respiratory devices, and protective shields and barriers, were not provided: (a) At the Dress Shop located at the corner of AS Perdido Rd., & Beach Rd., an employee was applying wet portland cement without the use of gloves to protect against skin exposure to portland cement therby, potentially resulting in caustic burns. Exposure may result in blisters, dead or hardened skin, or black or green skin.

29 CFR 1926.301(d): Wooden handles of tool(s) were not free of splinters or cracks: (a) At the back wall of the dress shop located on AS Perdido Rd. & Beach Rd., a sledge hammer with a wooden handle was not free of splinters or cracks. The sledge hammer was used to demolish a concrete shelf. Employees were exposed to the struck-by hazards from the tool flying off and striking the user or other employees in the vicinity.
