OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees    a.  On or about December 13, 2011, at the above addressed jobsite, an employee was conducting bolt up operations while standing on the toprail of a Genie GS-3268RT.  The employee was exposed to falls of seventeen (17) feet.  Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means to correct these hazards are to use safe alternate method, such as comply with ANSI/SIA A92.6-1999 for Self Propelled Elevating work Platforms, section 7.10.9: "Personnel shall maintain a firm footing on the platform floor while working."
