29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: (a)Al Packaging Company at 14806 East 33rd Place, Aurora, CO 80011: The employer did not ensure that where employees were exposed to injurious materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes were provided within the work area for immediate emergency use. Press operators use Bttcher Offset 4050 and Bttcherin Offset UV in the printing process. These chemicals may cause eye irritation and burns. An emergency eyewash with the capability to immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes was not located in the immediate area of the presses where the work took place. This condition exposed employees to a chemical burn hazard to the eyes.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1) Employers shall provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new physical or health hazard the employees have not previously been trained about is introduced into their work area. Chemical-specific information must always be available through labels and material safety data sheets. (a)All Packaging Company at 14806 East 33rd Place, Aurora, CO 80011: The employer did not provide an employee with effective information and training at the time of initial assignment. The employee used Bttcher Offset 4050 and Bttcherin Offset UV at the diamond press without chemical-specific training. This condition exposed the employee to chemical hazards.

This condition exposed the employees to hazardous materials. Abatement Note: Each container shall be marked with the appropriate hazard warnings, or alternatively, words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals, and which, in conjunction with the other information immediately available to employees under the hazard communication program, will provide employees with the specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical.
