29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch: On Feburary 17, 2012, and at times prior thereto, in the following locations, the adjustable tongue guard on bench grinders exceeded one-fourth inch; A. Horizontal Structures Bldg. 872: Milwaukee bench grinder #W6-95 had a tongue guard which measured three-eigths inch from the wheel. B. Utilities Shop Bldg. 176: Dayton bench grinder had a tongue guard which measured one-half inch from the wheel. C. Power Pro Shop Bldg. 931: US Electrical Tool Co bench grinder # 396716 had a tongue guard which measured one-half inch from the wheel. D. Vertical Shop Bldg. 879: A no-name bench grinder had a tongue guard which measured one-half inch from the wheel.
