OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to electrical hazards in the engine room: (a) C/P Blue Attu (Forepeak): On or about February 12, 2012, and times prior thereto employees were exposed to electrical shock hazards due to unguarded openings exposing energized wiring on 2 light switches in the forepeak mechanical shop area. (b) C/P Blue Attu (Engine Room): On or about February 12, 2012, and times prior thereto employees were exposed to electrical shock hazards due to unguarded openings exposing energized busbars on Panels #1 , #3, and #4. A feasable means of abatement would be, among other methods, to provide approved covers over open electrical devices.
