29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(v): A body belt with lanyard attached to the boom or basket was not worn by employee(s) working from an aerial lift: (a)Hamon Contractors, Inc., I-25 and Santa Fe Bridges, Denver, CO: On or about March 8, 2012, employees were observed using a Genie brand aerial lift to access an upper section of a tub girder without attaching lanyards to the appropriate anchors provided on the platform. Condition exposed two employees to an estimated 40 foot fall hazard. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is not required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1):Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a)Hamon Contractors, Inc., I-25 and Santa Fe Bridges, Denver, CO: On or about March 8, 2012, employees working on top of a "tub girder" section near pier #6 were not protected from falling by guardrails and/or Personal Fall Arrest Systems (PFAS). Condition exposed three employees to an estimated 40 foot fall hazard. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (See enclosed Abatement-Certification Letter).
