29 CFR 1910.179(b)(5): Rated load marking. The rated load of the crane shall be plainly marked on each side of the crane, and if the crane has more than one hoisting unit, each hoist shall have its rated load marked on it or its load block and this marking shall be clearly legible from the ground or floor. a. At the workplace, on 03/19/12, an employee operated an underhung traveling cab crane (B3647) that did not have it's rated load plainly marked on each side of the crane. Columbus Steel Castings was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standards or it's equivalent (1910.179(b)(5)), which was contained in OSHA inspection 313148207, citation number 03, item number 001, and was affirmed on November 25, 2009.
