29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) On or about 3/22/12, at the Buffalo Streets Dept. Garage, 185 Broadway St., Buffalo, NY: Five employees were engaged in repairing the roof deck on the high portion on the northwest side of the building. Four of the employees were exposed to a fall of approx. 7 ft. to the lower roof on the west side of the building, and to a fall of approx. 25 ft. off the "rake" edge to the lower roof on the north side of the building. Only one of the employees was utilizing the personal fall arrest protection that was provided. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
