29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not adequately assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Deli-Prepared Foods Area: The employer's Workplace Hazard Assessment for the personal protective equipment (PPE) did not include all the tasks and anticipated hazards requiring aproproiate types of PPE for various parts of body. On or about March 20, 2012, an employee was splashed with hot water and grease on hands, face, neck and shoulder while operating a range or rotisserie machine and sustsained serious second (2nd) degree burns on those parts of body due to lack of appropriate types of PPE provided and required.
