29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Machine guarding was not provided to protect operator(s) and other employees from hazard(s) created by: On 04/11/2012, unused portions of the blade of a band saw in the Lost Foam department were not guarded to protect employees from cuts and/or amputations: a) The sliding adjustable guard was not adjusted to the minimum practical distance from the workpiece which exposed employees to moving band saw blade. b) A portion of the blade was unguarded below the table surface exposing employees to the moving band saw blade. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED.
