29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: Hammering Area: 1) Pinchpoints at the back side of the back bending machine were not adequately guarded. 2) The points of operation of the two I "squared" S Hammering Machines were not guarded and the pinchpoints created by the reciprocating part fixture tables were not guarded. Maintenance Area: The rotating chuck of the Meuser and Company Lathe was not guarded. The chuck key of the Meuser and Company Lathe did not have a spring so that the chuck key could not be left in the chuck when it is started. The rotating lead screw shaft of the Meuser Lathe was not guarded. Casting Room: The screw conveyor was not adequately guarded at the hopper for the grinding operation.
