OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1))      The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to point of operation hazards:    On or about May 10, 2012, in the Non El Production Building, north side, the Chicago Riveter had an unguarded foot pedal that actuated the machine, exposing employees to an amputation hazard during an unintended operation.  A pedal mechanism on riveter was not covered with a guard to prevent unintended operation from falling or moving objects or by accidental stepping onto the pedals:    Among other methods, feasible abatement methods include:    1.  Provide a guard over the top of the pedal that would prevent the inadvertent stepping onto the pedal or the dropping of material that would depress the pedal that would actuate the riveter.  .
