29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1)(viii): The respiratory protection program did not include training of employees in the proper use of respirators, including putting on and removing them, any limitations on their use, and thier maintenance. Melt Shop: On May 14 2012, and times prior to, employees were using respirators that were not properly used thus, not creating an efficient seal. This condition exposed employees to air contaminants such as silica which was found to be in excess of the PEL described in table Z in 29 CFR 1910.1200. PEL for silica in General Industry is 5.0mg/m3, Monitoring was at 1.69mg.m3 respectively.
