29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and fuardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system. Or, on roofs 50-feet (15.25 m) or less in width, each employee was not protected by use of a monitoring system. On June 18, 2012, employees were not protected from falls as they roofed a commercial building with a flat roof, exposing them to a fall hazard of 17.7 feet above grade. North American Roofing Services, Inc., was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10) which was contained in inspection number 312729056, citation number 2, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on November 18, 2009, with respect to a work place located at 7151 Walton St. Rockford, IL. 61108. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
