29 CFR 1910.107(h)(12): Electrostatic spray area(s) were not provided with automatic sprinkler protection or other approved automatic extinguishing equipment: a) For the SPD Solutions facility at 2381 Circuit Way, Brooksville, FL 34604, as observed on or about 06/19/2012, powder coating of metallic parts took place in a powder coating booth. There were no sprinklers or any other extinguishing means in the booth. Employees were exposed to fire hazards from the combustible powder coating dust due to lack of automatic extinguishment equipment.

29 CFR 1910.107(l)(2)(i): All non-deposited air-suspended powder was not safely removed via exhaust ducts to the powder recovery cyclone or receptacle: a) For the SPD Solutions facility at 2381 Circuit Way, Brooksville, FL 34604, as observed on or about 06/19/2012, combustible class II powder coating dust was emitted from the powder coating booth to the building behind and around the booth. The dust had accumulated up to ? inch deep around the booth and resulted in a potential dust dispersion concentration of 40-130 grams per cubic meter. The minimum explosive concentration for the powder coating dust was listed to range between 15 and 50 grams per cubic meter according to the manufacturers material safety data sheets. Employees working in the room containing the powder coating booth were exposed to fire or explosion hazards associated with the emission and accumulation of combustible powder coating dust in the building.

29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(iii): Flexible cords were not connected to devices and fittings so that tension would not be transmitted to joints or terminal screws: a) For the SPD Solutions facility at 2381 Circuit Way, Brooksville, FL 34604, as observed on or about 06/19/2012, the plug on a 220V Millermatic 251 MIG Arc welder used at the facility had pulled away from its insulation resulting is tension being transmitted to the plug wire connectors. This resulted in an electric shock or fire hazard to employees plugging in or operating the equipment.
